Our clients approached Maverick Design with a clear vision: to preserve the original grandeur of the home’s design while ushering it into a new era of modern living. The result is a meticulously modernized residence that feels both timeless and distinctly contemporary.
This extensive renovation focused on enhancing flow, light, and material consistency. We unified the interior with wide plank European oak hardwood flooring, creating a calm and cohesive foundation throughout. At the heart of the home, the existing three-sided fireplace was reimagined with a seamless monolithic hearth slab and a floating surround, anchoring the main living area with understated elegance.
The entry was transformed with a dramatic 4-foot pivot door featuring a Shou Sugi Ban finish—an architectural moment that sets the tone from the first impression. Inside, the original curved floating staircase was refreshed and refinished to reflect the home’s new modern identity, while preserving its sculptural form.
We took great care in maintaining the integrity of the original exposed beams, reintroducing them into the contemporary palette for warmth and architectural continuity. In the primary ensuite, we stripped the space down to its structure to craft a serene retreat, now featuring a curbless walk-in shower with oversized format tile and a custom-integrated stone sink—a reflection of the clients’ unwavering attention to detail and appreciation for material craftsmanship.
This project exemplifies Maverick Design’s commitment to transforming homes through thoughtful, respectful renovations—where every element, from material choice to spatial layout, is handled with purpose and precision.
This home is a study in balance: between architecture and nature, heritage and innovation, form and function. Every detail was considered. Every line, intentional. The result is a home that feels grounded in its history, yet designed for modern life—with clarity, elegance, and purpose.
